O candidato a presidente, Eduardo Jorge (PV), assinou neste final de semana a Carta Compromisso da UCB (União de Ciclistas do Brasil). O documento com 14 itens visa conceder prioridade, nas políticas públicas relativas à mobilidade urbana, aos modos não motorizados, ao transporte coletivo e à integração entre eles, favorecendo a humanização do espaço público e a democratização do acesso à cidade.

Promover a redução do número de mortos e feridos no trânsito, criar rubrica específica no Orçamento Geral da União para custeio e investimentos em mobilidade ciclística e criar programa visando desoneração tributária da cadeia produtiva da bicicleta são também itens da Carta, dentre muitos outros. O documento será apresentado a todos os candidatos a presidente.

“A bicicleta desde o início esteve contemplada em nosso Programa. É fundamental investir em outros modos de transporte além dos motorizados. É preciso promover uma cultura de paz que proporcione a convivência entre os diferentes meios de transporte em nossa cidade. Criar estrutura para que isso aconteça, promover ações educativas, qualificar técnicos, linhas de financiamento, infraestrutura, enfim”, define Eduardo Jorge.
